FERROUS METALS

Heavy melting scrap or you can say that Heavy melting steel (HMS) is a description for eco-friendly wrought iron and steel. It is divided into two main categories:

HMS 1 & 2

HMS 1 and 2 are generally traded, mainly in the western areas. Both of these contain just obsolete scrap – steel and iron recovered from things dismantled or demolished at the life end. As both levels assure a least piece width – minimum 1/4 inch for HMS 1, as well as 1/8 in for HMS 2 – shipments have a high level of density. Both even have defined utmost dimensions, and must be ready to facilitate charging and handling to a furnace.

This sizing, preparation and density makes for well-organized furnace operation by reducing the time to charge sufficient scrap for a complete melt. Generally, thin mixed scrap very much improves charging time, cutting productivity of the furnace.

Differences on maximum part size are perfectly covered by ISRI codes. Usually, HMS is effectively traded as a mixture of 1 and 2, either a top blend (80:20) or less level mixes (70:30) as well as (60:40).

If comes to HMS1 then it refers to the weighty scrap that can’t be galvanized. It has the 0.6 cm3 density. HMS2 indicates to the lighter type of scrap and it may be galvanized. The specific size of each and every scrap is 3.2 mm lesser.

STEEL BALLS

Cold Rolled Steel Balls are highly responsive to magnets. They have high hardness and wear characteristics which make them perfect for use as ball bearings, tumbling media, and in locking mechanisms.

CAST IRON

Cast iron is a group of iron-carbon alloys with a carbon content greater than 2%.Its usefulness derives from its relatively low melting temperature. The alloy constituents affect its colour when fractured: white cast iron has carbide impurities which allow cracks to pass straight through, grey cast iron has graphite flakes which deflect a passing crack and initiate countless new cracks as the material breaks, and ductile cast iron has spherical graphite “nodules" which stop the crack from further progressing.

NON-FERROUS METALS

Non-Ferrous metals form the biggest share of the overall scrap recycling business of MACROTRADE GLOBAL SG PTE LTD. All metals except iron and steel form the Non-Ferrous metal group. The group consists of metals including copper, aluminum, brass, lead, zinc, and nickel. The Non-Ferrous metal scarps have among the highest of values in the market though these have a comparatively smaller share of the scrap metal market.

  • Shredded scrap 210, 211
  • Stainless Steel scrap 304, 316
